CGTN (China Global Television Network) published a feature on the noble pen shell in the Adriatic and Aquarium Pula

After the international television network CGTN (China Global Television Network) filmed a report in English at the Pula Aquarium last month about the critically endangered noble pinna (Pinna nobilis), the report was published on their official website last week.

In the report, partners in the national project “Preserving Noble Pinna in the Adriatic Sea” presented the issue of the mass mortality of noble pinna in the Adriatic and the activities being carried out with the aim of its conservation. Special emphasis was placed on ex situ and in situ protection measures, as well as efforts aimed at restoring the natural populations of this critically endangered species. They also pointed out that noble pinna is not an isolated case, but that due to sea warming and other consequences of climate change, numerous shellfish species are endangered, their populations are recording a significant decline.
