We hosted the famous British travel writer, author and TV presenter Ben Fogle on May 31, 2026 at the Pula Aquarium during his stay in Istria, where he filmed a documentary about the natural beauty, cultural heritage and people of our peninsula. The reportage will soon be presented to a global audience.
In addition to touring our exhibits, Ben Fogle also learned about the conservation work of the Pula Aquarium. He visited the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, where we rehabilitate injured and exhausted sea turtles before their return to the wild.
We also introduced him to the work of the Noble Pinna Sanctuary, in which we actively participate in the conservation of the critically endangered noble pinna (Pinna nobilis). Through the maintenance of juvenile and adult specimens and the implementation of scientific research, we contribute to its conservation within the framework of the national project "Preserving the Noble Pinna in the Adriatic Sea", as well as the international project "LIFE PINNACARE - Preservation and Restoration of the Noble Pinna", in cooperation with numerous partners.
