The partners of the JELLYBIZ – JELLYfish for BIZ: Business, Innovation and Knowledge project, co-funded by the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme, met online on 23 July for the project kick-off meeting. The meeting was moderated by the lead partner, the Municipality of Petacciato, and attended by representatives of the other project partners – the Municipality of Francavilla al Mare and Aquarium Pula – as well as the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Italy–Croatia Programme.
The meeting focused on project organization and management, planned activities, reporting, financial management and communication.
The expertise and scientific experience of Aquarium Pula’s jellyfish breeding unit and molecular laboratory were highlighted, along with the potential to transform a shared Adriatic environmental challenge into sustainable blue economy solutions. During the project, the partners will identify key stakeholders, analyse scientific and regulatory barriers, explore opportunities for the sustainable use of jellyfish, and build a lasting network of cross-border cooperation.
