A new turtle, Iza Lina, arrived at our Recovery Center!

Yesterday, July 28, in the afternoon hours, a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) named Iza Lina, estimated to be around 10 years old, with a body weight of 15.8 kg and a shell length of 47 cm, was received in the Aquarium Recovery Center. The turtle was found by Marko Srečec, Tomaž Hojan and Luka Zibelnik from the Old Diver Diving Center floating on the surface of the sea, west of the Mon Perin camp near Bal, on the west coast of Istria. She was exhausted and lethargic and was unable to dive. Upon arrival at the Recovery Center, an X-ray examination was performed, which did not reveal any internal injuries or the presence of foreign bodies. The turtle is currently under surveillance and its monitoring and recovery are continuing. We thank the divers of the Old Diver Diving Center for their quick report, help and transport of the turtle to land.
