Return of six sea turtles to the sea on29/5/2026.

On the occasion of International Turtle Day, which is celebrated every year on this day (23. 5.), Aquarium Pula is pleased to invite you to the traditional event of the return of recovered sea turtles to the sea, which will be held on Friday, 29 May 2026, starting at 6:30 pm in front of the Verudela fortress. For the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to meet land and freshwater turtles from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, including indigenous hermit crabs (Testudo hermanni) and pond turtles (Emys orbicularis), invasive yellow-eared and red-eared turtles (Trachemys scripta scripta and T. scripta elegans), as well as tropical species such as the Indian star turtle (Geochelone elegans) and the African tortoise (Centrochelys sulcata).

The program will continue with the presentation of six recovered loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) ready for their return to nature: Frida, Raul, Zoe, Marlin, Kate and Suzi.

After the turtle release on the nearby beach, the program continues from 8:00 PM on the Verudela Terrace in the San Giovanni Battery, with refreshments for all participants. The Backing Tracks band will provide a pleasant atmosphere throughout the evening, and visitors will also be able to enjoy special promotional prices for cocktails. We look forward to seeing you!
