Loggerhead turtle Michelangelo arrives at the Rehabilitation Center

This morning, July 2nd, loggerhead turtle Michelangelo arrived at our Rehabilitation Centre after being found floating near the coast of Rovinj by Mr. Vedran Hrvatin.

During the initial examination, no external injuries were found, but an X-ray revealed a fishing hook that will need to be removed. The shell is overgrown with algae and goose barnacles, indicating a prolonged inability to feed and resulting in reduced mobility.

Michelangelo is currently under intensive care and observation in the rehabilitation pool.

We sincerely thank Mr. Hrvatin for his quick response!
