As part of the official program of the international UNESCO-UNITWIN conference "Sustainable Planning and Management of Cultural Landscapes: A Study of Pula as a UNESCO Site", over the last two days we hosted experts in the preservation of cultural heritage from around the world and took them through Fort Verudela and the San Giovanni Battery, as well as the Gallerion Historical Maritime Collection.
The Pula Aquarium was recognized as an example of good practice and self-sustainability in the preservation of cultural heritage, and the Gallerion as the core of the future maritime heritage center in Pula. The tour was accompanied by great interest and applause from the participants.
The conference is being held from 11 to 15 May, organized by the City of Pula, Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, the UNESCO-UNITWIN network and the Archaeological Museum of Istria, under the auspices of the Pula Tourist Board.
