Good news from our Recovery Center! Today, we successfully removed an 8 cm long fishing hook from the newly arrived loggerhead turtle Elpis (Greek for "hope"). The hook was removed through his mouth, and the antibiotic and vitamin therapy continues with the addition of painkillers. We are monitoring his recovery and hope that Elpis will start accepting food soon.
