In order to further raise awareness among the public and bring closer the beauty and fragility of the noble pen shell, the largest bivalve mollusk in the Mediterranean, we have decided to display the juvenile individuals in the aquarium's exhibition area. As part of the project "Conservation of the noble pen shells (Pinna nobilis) in the Adriatic Sea", these individuals arrived in the "Noble Sanctuary" in October 2022, and were collected from the collector in Javorike bay on "Veliki Brijun" at a depth of 2 to 10 m.
"Morana", which was collected in 2021 near the island of Plavnik, will soon join them in the exhibition.
